Private autobiography author John Harris holding his LifeBook

From first conversation to finished book, the LifeBook Memoirs process is built to make telling your story feel supported, structured, and genuinely enjoyable, providing a clear pathway that turns good intentions into actual pages. A LifeBook doesn’t come together through templates or shortcuts, though; it’s shaped through real collaboration between the author and their dedicated team, from interviews through to editing and print.

In the testimonial below, LifeBook author John Harris describes what it was like to go from “where on earth would I start?” to holding a finished book he’s proud of… and what happened once he began sharing it.

Here’s what John had to say:

I would like you to know that I am nothing short of absolutely delighted with my LifeBook and wish to thank most sincerely all of you—Roy (founder), Tessa and Lindsay (sales), Sammie (project manager), Charlotte (deputy project manager), Kate (interviewer), Tessa (ghostwriter), Stephen (editor), and your printers—who have contributed to what I dare call a complete success.

I had often wondered about writing my autobiography but, despite having written and published a book already (The Town Reeves of Bungay), I would not have known where to start. What I have greatly appreciated is what I like to call “the discipline of the interviewing process,” and I am also grateful for the fact that my many deletions, additions, and adaptations have all been accepted without question.

I have been greatly surprised, and not a little humbled, by the amount of friends, over and above the relatively small number of family members and long-standing friends to whom I had planned to offer the ten hardback copies which come as part of the package, who have expressed a wish to own a copy of my book—so much so, in fact, that I have already ordered twenty-five paperback copies… and I am now expecting to order twenty-five more!

My renewed thanks to you all, with seasonal greetings and good wishes for the continuation of the good work you all do for LifeBook Memoirs.
