Philippe had been toying with the idea of writing his life story for years. Like many of our authors, he wanted to share his experiences with family and friends but just didn’t know where—or how—to begin.
Eventually, he took the plunge and embarked on the LifeBook journey. Over the course of a year, step by step and with the steady support of our team, Philippe brought his memories to life. What began as a slightly daunting task soon became something he looked forward to. In fact, by the end of the interview process, he found himself missing it.
The project unearthed long-forgotten stories, nudged into the light by his interviewer’s thoughtful questions. The result? A beautifully presented autobiography that his loved ones have found not just easy to read but compelling, elegant, and full of heart.
Philippe recently sat down with LifeBook Memoirs co-founder Roy Moëd to share his reflections on the process, the value of preserving his story, and why he believes it’s something others should consider doing—for themselves and for the people they care about.

Philippe’s LifeBook, entitled Les Tribulations d’un Auvergnat International, was completed in 2021.
