Ref: 2134"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The role<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a LifeBook Memoirs interviewer, you will help guide the author to tell their story in a logical, methodical manner. You will draw out the details, personality and emotion of the stories, which will then be transformed into a beautifully crafted autobiographical book by a ghostwriter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will visit the author, usually in their own home, for a series of 14+2 meetings held over a eight-month period. Of these, 14 meetings will last for 90 minutes and two meetings will last for 120 minutes, to allow time for scanning the author\u2019s photographs. All meetings will be digitally recorded. You will be required to spend time preparing for these interview sessions, communicating with the team, uploading the audio recordings and scanning the author&#8217;s amendments for the ghostwriter after the sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be given full training to cover the technical and soft skills required for this position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Living within approximately 10 miles or 30 minutes\u2019 travel time of the author<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Active listening and strong verbal communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Empathy, patience, non-judgmental attitude, and open manner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good IT skills, with the ability to learn how to use a recording machine and a scanner and to upload files to our online database<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to the full seven-month project duration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flexibility to meet the author\u2019s schedule<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in social history and people\u2019s stories, from the everyday to the exceptional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work as part of a virtual team, meet agreed timescales and follow procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commitment to confidentiality at all times<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience in social care or a similar setting is desirable.
